Stacked Charts

Stacked charts are charts where users can view the whole, parts of the whole, and part-to-whole comparisons. It helps to view numeric values across one categorical variable to two.

For example, we have order data in different statuses for many countries as below.


This data can be pivoted on the order_status column, to get one record for each country having different status orders as columns. For this, the user needs to click on the Settings button in the top bar, then select Order_status in the Pivot field, and click on the Ok button.


Once the data is pivoted, there can be a group of multiple columns(different order- status) for each country. Click on the Column chart button and select the Country column as Xseries and all other respective order columns as Yseries, and click on the Plot button.


Now this chart can be converted to a stacked chart. Users can stack these columns together. For example, here the USA has multiple bars for different order statuses. Now to stack them into one single bar user has to check the Show stacked chart? in the Series tab. In the Colors tab, the user can select colors for each series in order and then click on the Plot button.
