Slack notification is just another way to notify users about the status of the jobs other than Emails. Before setting up the status based notifications, the administrator needs to set up Slack into Sprinkle.
Admin -> Settings -> Add to Slack
The user will have to select the workspace on the top right corner before establishing the permissions and clicking on “Allow”
Post configuration, the notifications can be set for any job.
Manage Data -> Flows
A new flow or existing flow is selected.
After the scripting part, the job is run and tested whether it is successful or not. On clicking “AutoRun”, it takes the users to a page with Jobs, Sources, Dependents, Timeline View, and Notifications.
In the Notifications tab, to add a new notification, “Add” must be selected.
Notifications can be set either on success, failure, or cancellation. The notification type can be selected between Email and Slack. On selecting Slack, the channels that need to be notified should be selected.
Sprinkle by default only lists top 1000 Slack channels, if the channel that needs to be added is not listed below, the user can apply the name of that channel and click on create followed by the channel name. In this case “create sprinkle-notifications”
