Overview and Creating Flow

Models

Segments

Overview

Flows are the building blocks for creating cubes. Data from various sources are imported into Sprinkle as tables. These tables are further joined to create flows (tables) from which the cubes are created. You normally would join various tables from your data sources and issue a “create table as select * from …” statement. Using Flows, you cast the data type of columns and create new measures.

The page list all the flows that have been created by you and other team members.

  • My Flows tab
  • Lists all flows owned by you.
  • Shared with me tab
  • Lists all the flows (identified by the owner field).

Creating Flow

To create flow, click “New”. Name and create the flow. Now you can write your flow query.

Creating flow

Flow View

This page is used to create and edit flows.

  • Save and Run

After you are done editing your report, click this button to get the latest results. A new job is launched and can explore that table in explores with latest data.

  • Auto-Run
  • Schedule the flow. Flows can be scheduled at different timeframes, say, every night, every 12 hours, 4 hours, 2 hours and even hourly.
