Drill Down Feature In Segments And Dashboards

Sprinkle now enables drill down features on both segments as well as dashboards. This allows users to drill down further into the details of the reports without the need to create separate reports. This will actually help the users to save time on report creation and allow more time for analysis.

In order to drill down a segment, the user first needs to create a segment. You can click here to read about how to create a segment. Post creating a segment, the user can click on any of the measure values and can drill down further at different cuts.

For example, we ran a segment and the following report was created. Now in the below report we have Weekly Sales.

Drill Down

Now if the user wants to see the sales of a particular Week at different cuts like by buyer_city, by seller_city, by category, by Order_date_day etc then the user can click on the sales value of particular Week then it shows different dimensions.

Drill Down

Now the user can then select multiple dimensions from the drop down or show all to see all entries. Upon selecting the required dimensions and on clicking show selected, the user will get all the details for that respective value.

In this case, Sales for Week “2020-34” is drilled down by Buyer City, Seller City and Category.

Droll Down

So, after using the drill down, the user can come to the conclusion from which Buyer City and in which Category is making more sales. And also can drill down and find which Seller or Seller City is making more Sales.

Similarly, the same drill down feature can be used in the dashboard level as well.

Drilldown on pre configured fields

Unlike the basic Drill down feature, If the segment owner needs to restrict few columns to the end users during drill down, then it can be enabled by checking the “Enable default drill down selections” and selecting the columns that need to be shown.

After selection, only the selected columns will be used for drill down.
